The meeting will feature a keynote address from the Acting NASA Senior Advisor for Budget and Finance, Dr. Bhavya Lal, and will include updates from NASA, networking opportunities, and contributed technical content from the community (the abstract deadline has passed). Registration for the LSIC Spring Meeting is required in order to access the live poster and networking sessions as well as discussion breakout sessions. The registration portal is now open, and will close on 5 May, 2021.
Day one of the meeting (Tuesday, May 11th) will feature the keynote address and LSIC-wide plenary sessions, including networking sessions for the community. Pre-registration is required to attend the networking sessions (due to technical limitations, no exceptions can be made on the day of the meeting). A panel discussions will focus on funding and flight opportunities.

The LSIC Spring Meeting will be conducted via Zoom and GatherTown, with virtual posters also viewable on the LSIC website after the event. Both Zoom and GatherTown can be accessed through a browser without installing additional applications. Plenary and break-out sessions will be hosted in zoom. GatherTown will be available on both days for the poster session as well as before the meeting and during lunch.
All abstracts accepted for the LSIC Spring Meeting are accepted as poster presentations. You will be notified via email whether you have been selected to present a short summary of your poster as a lightning talk immediately preceding the live poster session. This talk is limited to one slide. If you have been selected for a lightning talk, details of the talk duration and information for you presenter login to zoom will be provided via email.
Poster Submission
Posters can be submitted using LSIC’s Poster Portal (link TBD). All posters should be in PDF format, and should not exceed 3840 x 2880 pixels (a 4:3 aspect ratio) or 25MB in size.
Asynchronous Q&A
Each poster will also be displayed on its own page in LSIC’s wiki powered by Confluence, where asynchronous question and answer sessions can be conducted using Confluence’s “Comment” tool. Anything hosted on LSIC’s wiki will be restricted only to LSIC members. Authors should “watch” their poster page on Confluence to receive email notifications when comments are posted.
Live Poster Session Via Gather Town
During the time set aside in the agenda for a poster session, the Gather Town platform will be used to allow attendees to ‘visit’ different posters virtually, and interact real-time with authors.
Poster Viewing After the Meeting
After the event, each poster will be hosted on LSIC’s website. This includes a thumbnail of the poster for browsing and a larger PDF for detailed viewing. Authors can also submit their photo and contact information for display. The posters displayed on LSIC’s external website will be accessible by the public. If you prefer to opt out of this, please let Andrea Harman know.
Lightning talks will be presented live in the plenary session immediately preceding the poster session. Lightning talks are limited to a single slide. Your slide must be submitted in advance of the meeting (by May 5).
